Antequera, Barcelona, Calatayud, Ciudad Real, Córdoba, Cuenca, Guadalajara, Huesca, Lleida, Madrid, Puente Genil, Puertollano, Segovia, Sevilla, Tarragona, Valencia, Valladolid and Zaragoza, make up the AVE cities network. All the cities have something in common: the high-speed line which allows Renfe’s AVE high-speed trains to operate. The network between the cities facilitates a promising collaboration in the development and promotion of the AVE cities. the experience was created to promote destinations in Spain and integrate the cities which are linked by high-speed trains. It aims to act together in operating under a common strategy that promotes and enriches all concerned cities. Also, the cities have established policies and exchange experiences and results to evolve together, even for developing, managing and disseminating cultural activities on common projects.
With AVE, the Spanish high-speed train, travelling and discovering some of Spain’s most beautiful cities can be done easily and in a short period of time. The AVE trains operated by Renfe are a means of transport that provides comfort, safety, and speed and takes visitors to the heart of cities. The high speed in Spain is a new way to travel and know a country, both for domestic travellers and for foreigners.
AVE allows tourists to visit Spain and discover a variety of cultures, gastronomy and popular folklore, in one trip. With over 2,600 kilometres of high-speed network, this is the largest high-speed network in Europe. From World Heritage cities and monuments to natural landmarks as well as fiesta, wine culture and Spanish cuisine, everything is possible with AVE.
