The migration is considered one of the seven new wonders of the world with over two million animals, including wildebeest, gazelle, eland, zebra, and impala, making the journey from the Serengeti National park in Tanzania to the Maasai Mara Game Reserve in Kenya.
Clients booking and travelling with Africa Safari Classics during the migration, which takes places from July to late October, will enjoy a full day game drive along the Mara river with picnic lunch every day to see the crossing.
Clients will witness the Wilderbeests’ never-ending search for food and water and will see them attempt to cross the Mara River alive, where crocodiles will prey upon them. On land the Wildebeest will be at the mercy of other predators; the Maasai Mara has one of the largest densities of lions in the world.
