In October 2010, a tsunami that was triggered by an earthquake swept the Sumatra coast of Indonesia. There have also been reports of a volcanic explosion from Mount Merapi, which is located near Jogjakarta in Java. This natural disaster has consequently had many devastating results, and thousands of people have been evacuated from Indonesian regions.
Chic Teak, a leading teak furniture specialist, was fortunate enough not to be a victim of these unfortunate natural disasters, with their government-controlled plantations in Central Java located close to the tsunami and volcanic eruption. However, due to the poor weather conditions and slow traffic movement, will ultimately make it difficult to transport quality teak garden furniture to the UK. Also, container lorries moving wooden garden furniture from suppliers to the docks will quickly erode the surfaces, meaning due diligence needs to be taken when transporting.
