London, United Kingdom (1st August, 2012) – People Insight, a leading provider of employee engagement and employee survey services, comment on recent research findings which suggest a high number of UK employees are keen to change jobs in the near future.
In research covering over 200 organisations and 125,000 employees, People Insight found that 34% of employees do not intend to stay with their employer for any longer than two more years.
Despite the current economic and job market conditions being unstable, many UK employees are keeping their options open when it comes to planning and managing their career.
The research found that employees in large cities, such as London, are even more likely to be browsing the jobs adverts than their counterparts elsewhere.
A spokesperson for People Insight commented: “Even taking into account the current disappointing economic climate, the research shows that offering an employee a pay rise is not a particularly effective way of getting them to stay. Focussing on their development, and giving them lots of freedom and opportunities to learn and grow, are shown to be much more effective at encouraging them to stay in their current job position; so it is clear that career satisfaction and progression is taking precedence over salary with the British public.”
