3-9-2012 – Office refurbishment specialists Whitespace Consultants have recently been commissioned to design and fit out the reception and café/bar area of a well known Aviation training company.
Oxford Aviation Academy, who provides integrated aviation training/resourcing services, required an attractive and welcoming but functional reception and café area.
Whitespace used their office refurbishment and commercial office design skills to redesign the reception and café/bar area not only making the best use of the space but also improving the look and feel of the area.
A bespoke reception desk was designed and produced which achieved the ‘look’ the client wanted, as well as complying with DDA requirements.
Office equipment was needed to run the busy reception area; this was discreetly hidden from view by implementing a partition screen to ensure the space looked neat and tidy. The corporate brand was utilized in the form of glass manifestation on the glazed partitioning which separated the café/bar from the reception.
Soft seating was introduced to make best use of the space available, providing somewhere comfortable and relaxing to sit. The inclusion of ‘hot-desks’/IT pods into this space, allowed student pilots, staff and guests to take advantage of the wireless internet access, which was available throughout the training centre. Café style bars, tables, chairs and high stools completed the look.
The overall design used cool tones for the soft seating with practical finishes for the feature flooring.
The end result of this project succeeded in producing a relaxing yet functional environment, which also provided a great first impression.
